Who is Laurie Jordan?

New York-based yoga instructor and author, Laurie Jordan is all about keeping yoga real

Her classes are a refreshing departure from the idea that yoga must be very serious and almost no fun at all. On the contrary, her classes combine her playful sense of humor and laid back approach with years (and years) of experience as both a yoga teacher and yoga student. Add to that mix, an awesome music soundtrack–and Laurie’s classes feel like a 75 minute celebration.

Laurie is the author of Yawning Yoga: A Goodnight Book For A Good Night's Sleep and a pioneer of kids yoga in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. She created the areas first ever kids yoga teacher training, and for the past six years she has been leading the Kaia Kids Teacher Training for Kaia Yoga, Connecticut’s premier yoga studios.

She has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Well and Good NYC, Mind-Body-Green, Yoga Journal, Working Mother, Greenwich and Westport Magazines and she shares her expertise as a contributing writer for Elephant Journal.

She is certified to teach yoga to folks of all ages and has a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work. The combination of yoga and social work has given Laurie a unique expertise that provides insight and special solutions to growing children and families.
